The soft stones (3.5 on the Mohs scale) are splintered with veins of brown and white.

It was originally discovered in Peru in 1987, but it has since been found all over the world.
Angelite’s name is derived from Greek that means “without water”.
The stone becomes gypsum once water is absorbed, and returns to its original form when all liquid has evaporated again.
