The name Mookaite, comes from “mooka” a word used by indigenous Australians to describe running water.
The only known deposit is located in Mooka Creek in the Western Australian Outback.
Mookaite has a wide variety of colors, evoking its desert home.
Its patterns are influenced by fossils that were present during the stone’s formation.
