There is something light-hearted and positive about the playful color palette of this Morganite bracelet.
Gems in this family appear in a range of pastel pinks, greens, and blues.
The beryl’s high luster and milky undertones recall candy or ice cream.
The most valuable forms of Morganite are completely transparent pink gems that are faceted for jewelry, these are rarer than diamonds, but demand keeps their prices low.
The gem was named for J.P. Morgan, founder of J.P. Morgan & Co., later known as JP Morgan Chase, in 1911.
Did you know he was a known gem collector?
You can see his gem collection collection on display in the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
These beautiful stones are usually found in small quantities within larger deposits of other minerals.
They can be mined in Brazil and Madagascar, as well as the U.S., Namibia, and Afghanistan.
