The name Pyrite comes from the Greek word “pyr” or “pyros,” meaning fire.
The mineral has a beautiful metallic luster and a lovely brassy hue.
Can you believe it can to create sparks when struck against hard metal or stone?
This made it extremely useful as a standalone fire starter,
and it was used to create ignition in early weapons and lighters.
The Incas and Aztecs favored Pyrite for its reflective capability,
polishing large stones into mirrors.
This same quality inspired its use for jewelry in the Victorian era.
Pyrite has also held great significance as a healing stone.
Native Americans used Pyrite for healing ceremonies in amulets.
Many stones originate from prominent sites in Spain, Italy, China, Russia, & Peru.
This Pyrite bracelet is perfect if you want something that still captures the eye, but feels grounded and practical.
Catch some of its spark for yourself today.
